Citera Record – An unforgettable community experience that received national attention!

The community of the Szabó Lőrinc Eco-School Development Support Association realized a special event in 2024, which deservedly became one of the most beautiful and proudest moments in the school's history: the Zither Record was created, where children, teachers, parents and supporters played one of the most beautiful instruments of Hungarian folk culture together.

The record attempt did not only cause great joy within the walls of the school. It reached 1.8 million views on social media, received more than 1,000 clear, positive comments, and more than 15,000 shares proved that it touched people in every corner of the country. The sound of the zither thus spread far and wide not only on site, but also in the online space.

Playing music together was a way of preserving tradition, building community, and celebrating. The sound of the zither connected generations, created a bridge between the past and the present, and showed that Hungarian folk culture truly lives when we cultivate it together. The enthusiasm of the participants, the sparkling eyes of the children, and the cooperation of the teachers and parents created an atmosphere that everyone present took with them.

The Citera Rekord was also proof of the school's community-building power. Many volunteers participated in the organization, preparations, and implementation, working heart and soul to create an unforgettable experience for the children. The event showed what a cohesive community can do when driven by a common goal.

The Citera Rekord was not just an event, but a message: tradition lives on, the community is strong, and together we are capable of miracles.

Sustainability for the Future!

"The community of the Szabó Lőrinc Eco-School Development Support Association has implemented a special and exemplary initiative: (2025) by collecting nearly thirty thousand egg containers and planting more than ten thousand green plants, the Hungarian and World Record of the Green Pyramid was born, which we created in the spirit of the Sustainability of Life on Earth. 🌍🌱♻️

This impressive creation is not only a spectacular installation, but also a powerful message: we must act today for future generations, and together we are able to create real change.

A huge thank you goes to the 25 institutions from the schools of the Nyíregyháza Regional Education Center that joined the initiative. We thank the students, parents, the City Administration of Nyíregyháza, the Vikár Sándor Music School, the Sóstóhegy community and all our supporters for their dedicated work and enthusiastic participation!

The Green Pyramid project showed that sustainability can be not only a subject of study, but also a living practice. Children and adults were able to experience together the many ways in which everyday objects can be recycled and reused, while creating real value for our planet. 🌱♻️

Let's celebrate Earth Day together and continue working together for a more livable, greener future, so that future generations can also experience the wonders of nature! 🌿💚

The Association organized an Eco-trip for the students of the 5 most active schools participating in the Green Pyramid Hungarian Record. 27 students represented their school at the invitation of Hungary's largest egg tray factory, Hartmann Hungary Kft. in Ács.

"Recognition for sustainability! We are proud to share that Hartmann Hungary Kft. – the largest egg tray manufacturer in Hungary – awarded the "Sustainability Ambassador" certificate of recognition to László Rusznyák, president of the Szabó Lőrinc Eco-School Development Support Association in Nyíregyháza, for his outstanding work in the framework of the "Green Pyramid Hungarian Record Project". The "Green Pyramid" is a unique initiative, which was built from more than 30,000 unused egg trays and decorated with more than 10,000 green plants / seedlings, all to draw attention to the importance of Sustainability. The news of the Green Pyramid – Hungarian Record has reached five continents of the world, where Hartmann Company operates factories!
